Starling Marte Out With Hand Injury
2 years agoNew York Mets manager Buck Showalter said that outfielder Starling Marte (hand) is out of Thursday's lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays after he was hit by a pitch in the hand on Wednesday. The Mets don't sound very concerned with Marte's injury, even though he was sent for X-rays. With Marte out Thursday, Jeff McNeill will handle right field and hit third in the lineup against Rays right-handed rookie Taj Bradley. The 34-year-old Marte has stolen 11 bases already this season in 39 games, but he's hitting a disappointing .238 (34-for-143) with four doubles, one home run, 10 RBI and 15 runs scored in 157 plate appearances. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.
