Starling Marte Out With Hand Injury
12 months agoNew York Mets manager Buck Showalter said that outfielder Starling Marte (hand) is out of Thursday's lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays after he was hit by a pitch in the hand on Wednesday. The Mets don't sound very concerned with Marte's injury, even though he was sent for X-rays. With Marte out Thursday, Jeff McNeill will handle right field and hit third in the lineup against Rays right-handed rookie Taj Bradley. The 34-year-old Marte has stolen 11 bases already this season in 39 games, but he's hitting a disappointing .238 (34-for-143) with four doubles, one home run, 10 RBI and 15 runs scored in 157 plate appearances. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.
