Seiya Suzuki Resting Against Reds
2 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki will take the day off on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. The day off isn't because he's been struggling, either, as Suzuki has gone 12-for-32 (.375) with two doubles, four home runs, seven RBI and a stolen base in his last nine games. The 28-year-old Japanese outfielder is having a strong second season in the big leagues for the Cubs to this point, hitting .293 (39-for-133) with eight doubles, a triple, six home runs, 19 RBI, one steal and 16 runs scored in 154 plate appearances in 37 games played. He'll be back in the starting lineup on Saturday. Christopher Morel, who has an absurd nine homers and 15 RBI in 14 games, is starting in right field and is hitting sixth on Friday against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene.
