Salvador Perez Day-To-Day With Hand Contusion
2 years agoUpdating a previous report, Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (hand) left the game early on Wednesday night after getting hit on the left hand by a pitch from Cincinnati Reds starter Ben Lively in the third inning, but he's considered day-to-day with a left-hand contusion. X-rays apparently came back negative, and Perez will have an extra day to rest on Thursday due to a scheduled off day. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Friday to see if the 33-year-old All-Star backstop is playing in the series opener against the Los Angeles Angels. Perez remains one of the better hitting catchers in baseball and entered Wednesday's contest hitting .275 (66-for-240) with 14 home runs, 37 RBI and 32 runs scored on the season.
