The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Mikael Granlund in a three-team trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens. Granlund spent only half a season in Pittsburgh after getting picked up from Nashville for a second-round draft pick. He scored once in 21 games and had five points in total, so his spell in the Steel City was a forgettable one. Granlund will hope to bounce back in San Jose, where he should have a bigger role to play. The Finnish forward is only a season removed from a 64-point campaign, and he has been a fairly productive player throughout his NHL career, registering 145 goals and 484 points in 750 regular-season appearances. The Sharks also added another forward Mike Hoffman with the trade, as well as defenseman Jan Rutta, along with a 2024 first-round draft pick from the Penguins.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
