Travis Hunter Dealing With Upper-Body Injury, Could be Held Out of Preseason Game
Travis Hunter (upper body) out of their second preseason game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints as a precaution while he deals with an upper-body injury, according to head coach Liam Coen. Hunter didn't take part in the team's walkthrough practice on Friday due to his injury, per ESPN's Michael DiRocco. The 22-year-old second overall pick in this year's NFL draft doesn't appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but we'll keep a close eye on his health heading into the final week of the preseason next week. He will be considered day-to-day for now. The Jaguars have every intention of playing Hunter on both sides of the ball in his first year in the NFL, which makes it hard to gauge the Heisman Trophy Winner's fantasy potential in Year 1. He has the upside to be the team's WR2 right away, but he still makes for a boom/bust WR3/flex target in fantasy.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Jacksonville Jaguars might hold rookie two-way star Jesus Made Extends Hitting Streak at High-A
Jesus Made went 3-for-5 during their contest against High-A Great Lakes on Thursday evening. This outing extended his current hitting streak to an impressive six games. During this stretch, Made has posted a .458/.518/.708 line with an elite 1.227 OPS. Over these six games, the No. 7-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com has tallied one double, one triple, and one home run. Made spent the majority of the first half at the Low-A level and has only appeared in eight total games at High-A. During his first two games at the level, he tallied just one hit. Seeing him make a quick adjustment is excellent for his long-term outlook. He remains top stash in all dynasty leagues, even though he is several seasons away from his MLB debut.Source: MiLB.com
Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Michael Page Set For His Second Middleweight Bout
Source: UFC
Michael "Venom" Page will look to improve to 2-0 since moving up a weight class when he takes on former title challenger Jared Cannonier on the main card of UFC 319 on Saturday. Page joined the UFC back in 2024, and since then, he's gone 2-1. In his last bout, Page made his middleweight debut in the UFC against Shara Magomedov, and Page had a masterful performance, beating previously undefeated Magomedov via unanimous decision. DraftKings sees Page as the favorite with a salary of $8,700.Jared Cannonier Looks To Win Back-To-Back Fights
Source: UFC
Former title challenger Jared Cannonier is set to take on Michael "Venom" Page on the main card of UFC 319 on Saturday. Cannonier was last seen in action in February at UFC Vegas 102, where he got back in the win column by defeating Gregory Rodrigues via fourth-round TKO. Prior to his bout with Rodrigues, Cannonier was on a two-fight skid. A win over Page would be another high-profile name to add to his resume and keep him in contention in the middleweight division. DraftKings sees Cannonier as the underdog with a salary of $7,500.Max Clark Launches Home Run on Thursday
Max Clark went 2-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base during their contest against Double-A Chesapeake on Thursday evening. This game snapped a lengthy 19-game home run drought for the top outfield prospect in the Detroit system. During this 19-game power skid, Clark was still productive in the batter's box as he held a .286/.391/.416 line with three doubles, four home runs, and four stolen bases. Overall, since joining Double-A Erie, the former third overall pick has posted a .281/.381/.479 line with an .860 OPS. He began the season with High-A and held a similar .285/.430/.427 line with seven home runs and 12 stolen bases. He should be in a good position to spend most of the 2026 season at the Triple-A level.Source: MiLB.com

Kai Asakura Looks For His First UFC Win
Source: UFC
Former Rizin bantamweight champion Kai Asakura will look to return to the win column as he faces off against Tim Elliott on the UFC 319 main card opener on Saturday. Asakura made his UFC debut in his last fight in December 2024 at UFC 310, and it was against flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja. Unfortunately for Asakura, the fight didn't go the way he planned as he was submitted in the second round. Prior to that, Asakura defeated Juan Archuleta via second-round TKO. DraftKings sees Asakura as the favorite with a salary of $9,200.Luke Keaschall Busy in Thursday's Loss
Luke Keaschall continued to stay productive on the scoreboard during their loss to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. In this contest, the former second round pick went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base. He struck out twice. Keaschall knocked an RBI single in the third inning off Detroit ace Tarik Skubal. Since returning to the big leagues on August 5, the 23-year-old has been one of the most productive hitters in the sport. During this nine-game stretch, Keaschall has held a .308/.308/.538 line with three doubles, two home runs, 12 RBI, and a stolen base. Before suffering a forearm fracture which kept him sidelined throughout most of the first half, Keaschall posted a .368 AVG with five stolen bases over his first six MLB games. Given his ability to steal bases and hit for power, Keaschall remains a top target to add on the waiver wire.Source: MLB.com

Tim Elliott Set To Open Up UFC 309 Main Card
Source: UFC
Tim Elliott will look to win back-to-back fights when he takes on former Rizin bantamweight champion Kai Asakura on the UFC 319 main card opener on Saturday. Elliott was last seen in action back in December 2023 at UFC Vegas 83, where he got back in the win column by submitting Sumudaerji via first-round arm triangle choke. Since joining the promotion, Elliott has gone 9-11. DraftKings sees Elliott as the underdog with a salary of $7,000. J.J. Wetherholt Knocks a Double, Swipes a Bag
J.J. Wetherholt enjoyed another productive day at the plate on Thursday and is quickly approaching his MLB debut. On Thursday, facing Triple-A Charlotte, the former seventh overall pick went 1-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. This was a second-straight game tallying an extra-base hit. Since moving up to Triple-A Memphis earlier in July, Wetherholt has continued to flash high power upside, holding a .299/.394/.632 slash line with seven home runs and six doubles. During this stretch, the West Virginia product has held a 1.026 OPS and even swiped three bags. He opened the season with Double-A, where he held a .300/.425/.466 line across 62 games. Given his elite power upside, Wetherholt is a top stash candidate in redraft leagues as he should be given a taste of the majors before the end of the season.Source: MiLB.com
St. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Dylan Beavers Racks Up Three Hits on Thursday
Dylan Beavers continued to produce at a high level at Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday. Facing Jacksonville, Beavers went 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. Since the start of the month (10 games), Beavers has held a strong .308/.460/.641 slash line with one double, four home runs, and a 12:11 K:BB. Overall, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Baltimore system has been one of the most dominant hitters at the Triple-A level this season and is quickly approaching his MLB debut. Through 93 total games with the Tides, Beavers has posted an impressive .305/.420/.518 line with a .938 OPS, 18 home runs, and 23 stolen bases. Given his ability to contribute to all five categories, he should be viewed as a top stash option in all redraft leagues.Source: MiLB.com
Baltimore Orioles outfield prospect Malik Willis to Start Second Preseason Game
Jordan Love (thumb) sidelined temporarily after having surgery on his left (non-throwing) thumb, Malik Willis will step into the starting role for the second preseason game on Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts. The former third-rounder by the Tennessee Titans in 2022 joined the Packers at the end of training camp last year and made two starts for the team when Love was injured, leading them to wins over the Colts in Week 2 and the Titans in Week 3. Willis has become more confident this year after having a full offseason to work with the offense and had a solid week during training camp practices as the QB1 with Love out of action. However, the first-team offense struggled on Thursday in a joint practice with the Colts. The 26-year-old will be off the fantasy radar in 2025 unless Love misses more games due to injury.Source: SI.com - Jacob Slinkman
With Green Bay Packers quarterback Christian Kirk Locking Up No. 2 Receiver Spot in Houston
Christian Kirk stood out during the team's two-minute offense in joint practice with th Carolina Panthers on Thursday and "has been the most consistent receiver in camp not named Nico Collins." Kirk is locking up the WR2 spot behind Collins, and "no one expected Kirk to be just an average receiver when the Texans traded for him this offseason." The 28-year-old's fantasy stock was down following an injury-plagued final season in Jacksonville in 2024 in which he played in only eight games and caught 27 passes for 379 yards and one touchdowns. It also didn't help that Houston drafted rookies Jayden Higgins (second round) and Jaylin Noel (third round) back in April. Kirk's fantasy demise might be premature, though, which could make him an excellent value pick later in fantasy drafts for WR depth.Source: Texans Wire - Cole Thompson
Cole Thompson of Texans Wire writes that Houston Texans wide receiver Bills Hope Tyler Bass Can Kick Next Week
Tyler Bass (pelvis) is "moving in the right direction," and the team is trying to be smart with him so he doesn't suffer a setback. The goal is for Bass to kick in the third preseason game next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Maddy Glab of BuffaloBills.com reports that Bass will be limited in Friday's training camp practice. The Bills will hold the 28-year-old out of the second preseason game on Sunday against the Chicago Bears as a precaution. Barring a setback, it sounds like he'll be good to go for the Week 1 regular-season opener, where he'll be in play as a low-end starting fantasy kicker in 12-team leagues. Bass has made exactly 24 of his 29 field-goal attempts in each of the last two years in Buffalo. He's been steady but just hasn't had enough chances to make him a high-end fantasy option at his position.Source: The Buffalo News - Katherine Fitzgerald
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that kicker Joe Jimenez Won't Return in 2025
Joe Jimenez (knee) will not pitch in 2025, manager Brian Snitker announced. Jimenez will end up missing the entire season after undergoing surgery on his left knee last October. The 30-year-old began throwing bullpen sessions in July in hopes of returning, but the Braves shut him down after he felt discomfort in his knee. Jimenez enjoyed a career year in 2024 with a 2.62 ERA, a .99 WHIP, 82:23 K:BB, and 27 holds in 68 2/3 innings. However, he won't be able to follow up on that until 2026, the last season of a three-year, $26 million contract.Source: MLB.com

Jorge Soler hasn't Resumed Baseball Activities
Jorge Soler (back) still hasn't resumed baseball activities since he landed on the 10-day injured list on July 26 (retroactive to the 24th) with inflammation in his lower back. Soler has twice spent time on the IL with back problems during a difficult 2025 for the former All-Star, who has had one of his worst offensive seasons. The 33-year-old has slumped to a .215/.293/.387 line with 12 homers, 34 RBI, and 31 runs scored in 315 plate appearances. To his credit, Soler's bat showed major signs of life in July before he aggravated his back, as he went 11-for-42 with a .955 OPS, four homers, and eight RBI in 15 games. With Soler down, the Angels have shifted Jo Adell to right field and plugged in rookie Bryce Teodosio in center.Source: MLB.com
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Curtis Samuel to be Limited in Friday's Practice
Curtis Samuel (hamstring) will be limited in the team's training camp practice on Friday, according to Bills beat writer Maddy Glab. Samuel should be ready for the start of the regular season in three weeks, but for fantasy purposes, he's not even in RotoBaller's top 100 receivers. The 29-year-old was barely heard from in 2024 in his first year in Buffalo, catching 31 of his 46 targets for 253 yards and one touchdown in 14 regular-season games (two starts). There's no reason to believe that he'll have a bigger role this season, and he's currently competing for a depth role with Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore behind Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman. With the Bills offense spreading things around, it's highly unlikely that Samuel is going to be on the fantasy radar in most leagues in 2025.Source: BuffaloBills.com - Maddy Glab
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Chris Sale Could Return Next Week
Chris Sale (ribs) could come off the 60-day injured list and return to the majors next week, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Sale is scheduled to make his second Triple-A rehab start on Sunday, and unless he and the Braves decide he'll need a third tune-up in the minors, he'll rejoin the Braves' rotation. The reigning NL Cy Young winner suffered a fractured rib cage in a start against the New York Mets on June 18 and has missed about three months as a result. Sale was brilliant in that game, a 5-0 victory, as he fired 8 2/3 scoreless innings of five-hit ball with seven strikeouts against one walk. That was just one of several tremendous starts Sale turned in before going on the IL. The 36-year-old owns a 2.52 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP and 114:26 K:BB across 89 1/3 innings this season. While the Braves are out of contention, Sale's return could be huge for fantasy managers.Source: David O'Brien - The Athletic
Atlanta Braves ace Jermaine Burton Back at Practice on Friday
Jermaine Burton (undisclosed) is back in uniform and at training camp practice on Friday, according to Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati. Burton apparently suffered an undisclosed injury in the preseason opener last week against the Philadelphia Eagles after he caught one pass and had a couple punt and kickoff returns on special teams. It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old will suit up for the second preseason contest on Monday night against the Washington Commanders. For fantasy purposes, the third-round pick last year is off the radar in most leagues. In his rookie campaign last year, Burton caught four of 14 targets for 107 yards and no touchdowns in 14 games (one start). Right now, he's the team's WR4, at best, behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas. UPDATE: Burton worked on a side rehab field on Friday.Source: NBC 5 Cincinnati - Charlie Clifford
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Blake Perkins Placed on Bereavement List
Blake Perkins (personal) on the bereavement list. Perkins will likely miss the Brewers' weekend series against the NL Central-rival Cincinnati Reds as a result. The 28-year-old sat out the first three-plus months of the season with shin and groin injuries, but he has drawn a good amount of playing time since debuting on July 18. With Jackson Chourio on the 10-day injured list since July 30 with a hamstring strain, Perkins has been the Brewers' everyday center fielder of late. Perkins is known more for his defense, but he has hit a terrific .264/.338/.472 with three homers, nine RBI, 19 runs scored, and five stolen bases over 80 plate appearances this year. His absence should open up playing time for Brandon Lockridge, who came over from the San Diego Padres at the July 31 trade deadline.Source: MLB.com
The Milwaukee Brewers have placed outfielder Colts Hope to Make QB Decision "Sooner Rather Than Later"
Anthony Richardson Sr. and Daniel Jones. By the end of this weekend, both QBs should have roughly even reps throughout 13 training camp practices, a joint practice and two preseason games. Colts.com's JJ Stakevitz writes that as of Thursday night, the competition is "too close to call," and Steichen said he doesn't have a clear leader in his mind right now. Richardson has "looked more comfortable connecting on short and intermediate throws from the pocket" and has much more fantasy upside because of his rushing ability alone. At best, Richardson will be a QB2 in fantasy with upside if he wins the job.Source: Colts.com - JJ Stankevitz
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said, "I don't have an exact timetable on it, but sooner rather than later would be nice," when discussing when the team will decide the winner of the quarterback competition between Isaiah Bond Faces Possible Discipline From NFL
Isaiah Bond is likely to sign soon with the Cleveland Browns, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot, but he also faces possible discipline under the NFL's personal-conduct policy. The league is reviewing Bond's sexual-assault case, which was no-billed on Thursday, according to spokesman Brian McCarthy. Bond said on Thursday that he was planning on signing with the Browns, but the team hasn't officially brought him on board yet and are doing their due diligence given his off-the-field issues. The Browns have opportunity in their receiving corps behind Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman, but it remains to be seen if the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder can do enough to capture a depth role if he is indeed signed. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues can ignore him for now, but in dynasty/keeper formats, he's worth a dice roll for sure.Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Former Texas wide receiver Pierson Ohl to Start for Twins on Friday
Pierson Ohl will start Friday against the Detroit Tigers. It'll be the third start in five appearances for Ohl, who hasn't thrown more than three frames in any of his outings. The 25-year-old rookie has gone 0-2 with a 7.15 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and 9:3 K:BB over 11 1/3 innings. Ohl will face a Detroit offense that ranks eighth in the majors in runs. Considering he has amassed between 36 and 72 pitches in his appearances with the Twins, Ohl seems likely to hand off to the bullpen early in the game.Source: MLB.com
Minnesota Twins right-hander Keenan Allen Making His Mark in Practice
Keenan Allen and quarterback Justin Herbert have "picked up right where they left off in 2023," according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic. Allen spent the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears, but he racked up 150 targets, 108 receptions, 1,243 yards, and seven touchdowns in just 13 games during the 2023 season with the Chargers. The 33-year-old is at a different point in his career, and Los Angeles now runs a much less pass-happy offense under play-caller Greg Roman. Allen should not be expected to produce like he did two seasons ago, but he could still be a high-floor bye-week replacement in fantasy, particularly in PPR-scoring formats.Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Najee Harris to Miss First Four Games of the Season?
Najee Harris (eye) to open the season on the non-football injury list, which means he would be forced to miss the first four games of the season. Popper writes that he has "not seen nearly enough progress at this point to think (Harris) will be ready for Week 1." Harris suffered an eye injury on July 4 and just recently returned to practice in a very limited capacity this week. If Harris does indeed miss a chunk of the regular season, rookie running back Omarion Hampton would have a major opportunity to seize the lead role in the Los Angeles backfield. Hampton is a steady riser in fantasy and profiles as a high-end RB2, while Harris has fallen to RB49 in RotoBaller's half-PPR rankings.Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper
Los Angeles Chargers beat writer Daniel Popper of The Athletic projects Chargers running back Jakobi Meyers Impressing in Training Camp
Jakobi Meyers has "quickly cultivated strong chemistry" with quarterback Geno Smith and is "clearly (Smith's) No. 1 receiver," according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. Reed writes that Meyers was a standout in the team's joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. Meyers has quietly been a highly productive possession receiver in recent years, averaging 77 catches for 876 yards and five touchdowns over the last four seasons. The 28-year-old is expected to be the number two target in Las Vegas behind star tight end Brock Bowers. Meyers profiles as a steady WR3 in fantasy with limited upside but a projectable floor as long as he stays healthy.Source: The Athletic - Tashan Reed
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jacory Croskey-Merritt in Line for Significant Role?
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (shoulder) is all but assured of a roster spot, and it "wouldn't be a surprise to see him play a significant role in the offense," according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. The rookie seventh-rounder suffered a shoulder injury in Washington's first preseason game, but it isn't considered serious. Croskey-Merritt's training camp performance has earned a steady drumbeat of praise from both team personnel and Commanders' beat writers. He will almost certainly open the season behind both Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler on the backfield depth chart, but it appears that Washington is open to him working his way into more playing time. Croskey-Merritt is a name for fantasy managers to monitor on the waiver wire or even as a late-round dart throw in deep leagues.Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala
Washington Commanders running back Luke McCaffrey Struggling in Training Camp
Luke McCaffrey has "received ample time with the ones and struggled" in training camp practices, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. Jhabvala includes McCaffrey in his 53-man roster projection for Washington, but writes that he's doing so "largely because he was a third-round pick last year." The 24-year-old McCaffrey saw very little usage on offense as a rookie in 2024, recording 18 catches for 168 yards and zero touchdowns in 17 games. With Terry McLaurin not practicing while he seeks a new contract, Washington desperately needs someone to step up in their wide receiver room. However, it appears McCaffrey has not yet seized the opportunity to do so.Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala
Washington Commanders wide receiver
