After five straight finishes of T8 or better, Matt Fitzpatrick came back down to Earth with a T32 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He'll look to get back near the top of the leaderboard at the BMW Championship, which returns to Caves Valley for the first time since 2021. The 7,600-yard, par-70 layout will put an emphasis on both approach play and distance this week. Fitzpatrick ranks 37th in total strokes gained, 84th in strokes gained on approach, and 85th in driving distance. He's a solid putter, ranking 26th, and also sits 17th in proximity on approach shots from over 200 yards. Currently 40th in the FedEx Cup standings, he'll need a strong showing to crack the top 30 required to advance to the Tour Championship.
