Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is scheduled to have a disciplinary hearing with the NFL on September 30th, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That makes Kansas City's top wideout available for the first four games of the season before any possible suspension. The looming suspension has been a dark cloud over Rice's fantasy football outlook, as the team reportedly anticipates being without Rice for four to six games. This all stems from a multi-car crash that occurred in Dallas in 2024. Rice was sentenced to probation and 30 days of jail time for his involvement. The delayed timeline makes drafting the 25-year-old more difficult, as there won't be a clear timeline before the regular season begins. There's now potential for Rice to be sidelined during the important late stretch of the fantasy football season. Rice was on his way to a breakout campaign last year before a season-ending injury in Week 4. If he were eligible to play all 17 games, he'd likely be selected in the second or third round.
