Kyle Stowers Heads to Injured List With Left-Side Strain
Kyle Stowers (side) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Stowers was reportedly held out on Saturday as a precaution, but manager Clayton McCullough announced he's going to the shelf due to a Grade 1 left side strain. This is the type of injury that is going to take several weeks to heal. That being said, Stowers might not be back until possibly mid-September. That's a tough blow to the Marlins lineup considering Stowers breakout campaign. For now, fantasy managers should stash Stowers on their IR until more news is known. Heriberto Hernandez started in left field on Saturday. Also, outfielder Joey Wiemer was recalled to take over Stowers' spot on the active roster.
