San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday. This comes after a hand issue kept Chapman from playing during Wednesday's contest. He underwent an MRI which ruled out any structural damage. However, Chapman is going to miss a few weeks because of this injury. The Giants haven't given a timetable for his return, but late August or early September seems to make sense. Casey Schmitt figures to see a majority of the playing time at third base while Chapman is out.--Andy Webb
