Max Muncy Dealing With Grade 2 Hamstring Strain
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left-hamstring strain. Manager Dave Roberts said that the team is hoping Muncy can return to the starting lineup on Saturday against the division-rival San Francisco Giants. The original hope was that the 32-year-old left-handed slugger could return on Thursday, but that has been pushed back a few days. For now, he'll avoid the injured list, but if Muncy isn't able to return on Saturday or if he has a setback this weekend, he'll almost certainly be placed on the IL. That would be a big blow for the Dodgers and fantasy managers, even though Muncy is hitting a lowly .191 (40-for-209) on the year. He's still plenty useful in fantasy, though, with 18 home runs, 45 RBI and 39 runs scored. Chris Taylor is making another start at the hot corner on Wednesday for the Blue.
