Konnor Griffin Hits First Home Run at High-A in Three-Hit Game
Konnor Griffin went 3-for-4 on Saturday for High-A Greensboro, including his first home run at that level. The left-handed hitter also walked once, tallying two RBI and four runs scored along with two stolen bases in the contest. The 19-year-old has recorded a hit in each of his first five games at High-A, with multiple hits in four of the five, going 10-for-23 (.435) with four doubles, a home run, five RBI, nine runs scored, five steals, and a 2:2 BB:K. The ninth overall pick of the 2024 Draft is making his first run through professional baseball and is making it look easy, hitting .348 with a .963 OPS between Single-A and High-A, with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, 58 runs scored, and 31 stolen bases in 55 games played. At this rate, the Pirates' second-ranked prospect appears destined for Double-A and maybe even higher before the season is out. Dynasty managers should have a keen interest in MLB's 34th-ranked prospect.
