Justin Fields Making Strides With Footwork
2 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that quarterback Justin Fields has looked stronger in his rhythm and timing this offseason. "Obviously, the priority is the passing game," Eberflus said Friday. "We ran the ball very well. But we all know that we've got to improve in the passing game. Part of that is the rhythm and timing. That's the footwork with Justin." Eberflus said he's "really optimistic" about the passing game going into the 2023 season, in part because of the additions on offense. The third-year signal-caller ran for 1,143 yards and eight rushing touchdowns, but he completed 60.4% of his passes for 2,242 yards with 17 TDs and 11 interceptions. If Fields can improve his efficiency through the air, he'll no doubt have elite QB1 upside.
