Joey Gallo Heads Back To AL, Agrees With Twins
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins agreed to a one-year deal worth $11 million with free-agent outfielder Joey Gallo on Friday, according to sources familiar with the deal. The former two-time All-Star had the worst season of his career in 2022 with the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 126 games. The left-handed slugger hit a combined .160/.280/.357 with 19 home runs, 47 RBI, 48 runs scored and three stolen bases. Gallo struck out almost 40 percent of the time and finished with 163 K's in 410 plate appearances. He hit under .200 in 2021 as well, but it came with 38 home runs. With the 29-year-old, he offers prodigious left-handed power, but the Twins and fantasy managers are buying a ton of strikeouts and a crippling batting average.
