Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Jared Hughes pitched an exciting ninth inning to pick up his third save of the season on Saturday in a 6-5 win over the Rockies. Hughes started the game up a run in the bottom of the ninth and proceeded to quickly load the bases with two hits and a walk. He then got a ground ball force out at home followed by a double play to end the game thanks to a stellar defensive play by Scooter Gennett. While this one could have easily been Hughes' first blown save of the season, the righty has now picked up two saves since Raisel Iglesias landed on the DL with a left biceps injury. Hughes appears to be the interim closer in Cincinnati while Iglesias is out, but that role could be brief, as Iglesias is not expected to miss much more time.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
