Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Jared Hughes picked up his second save of the season on Thursday in a 5-4 win against the Pirates. Hughes entered the game up by a run with one out in the ninth and the bases empty, recording the final two outs with no walks or strikeouts. Reliever Amir Garrett started the ninth inning with the Reds up by three, but proceeded to give up a single and a two-run home run before Hughes replaced him. The Reds closing situation has been up in the air since Raisel Iglesias was placed on the 10-day DL with a left biceps injury. While interim manager Jim Riggleman said that five different relievers could see time in save situations, it appears that Hughes would be the guy to pick up on waivers if fantasy players were to speculate on Reds saves while Iglesias is out.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
