Jaguars Claim Tyron Johnson

The Jacksonville Jaguars claimed wide receiver Tyron Johnson off of waivers on Wednesday. Johnson, a second-year pro out of Oklahoma State, was previously waived by the Chargers on Tuesday. Johnson flashed at times in 2020, and he racked up 20 catches, 398 yards, and three touchdowns overall in 12 games. Johnson's excellent 19.9 yards per reception mark explains why the Jaguars claimed him. Following the release of Phillip Dorsett II, the team badly needed to add a speedy receiver to take over fourth wideout duties. Johnson's 4.41-second 40-yard dash speed should fit nicely in the Jaguars offense, and he projects to have sporadic fantasy value in 2021, though he is best left undrafted in most redraft formats at this point in time.
