George Springer Returns To Lineup Friday
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (hand) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against right-hander Luis Castillo and the Seattle Mariners. Springer is starting in right field and is in usual leadoff spot for the Jays after leaving Wednesday's game early after being hit by a pitch on his right hand. Thankfully, Springer avoided any breaks in his hand and will return the lineup on Friday. The 33-year-old has gotten off to a slow start this year in his first 25 games, going 21-for-97 (.216) with a double, three home runs, nine RBI, four stolen bases and 13 runs scored in 106 plate appearances. Springer hasn't cleared the fences since April 14 and has just five hits in his last 37 at-bats, striking out seven times.
