Eugenio Suarez Leaves Early on Monday With Hand Injury
Eugenio Suarez (hand) was pulled early from Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox in the bottom of the first inning after being hit on his right hand by a 96 mph fastball from right-hander Shane Smith, according to SI.com's Jack Sommers. Suarez was in a great deal of pain and will be sent for X-rays to check for any breaks or fractures, so fantasy managers will want to check back later for any updates on his condition. He was replaced at third by Ildemaro Vargas. Losing the 33-year-old veteran right-handed slugger for any amount of time would be a big blow to the D-backs and fantasy managers, as Suarez came into Monday's action ranked fourth in baseball with 25 home runs. He's also hitting .251/.321/.569 with an .890 OPS, 67 RBI, 48 runs scored and a steal in 2025. If Suarez goes on the injured list, Jordan Lawlar could rejoin the big-league roster. UPDATE: X-rays came back negative on Suarez's hand.
