Deshaun Watson Should Start Going Deep More Often
2 years agoCleveland Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said that deep attempts from quarterback Deshaun Watson should start to come more as he gets more comfortable with the offense. Watson was suspended for the first 11 games of the season and just finished his second game of the year in the Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he went 26-for-42 for 276 yards, his first touchdown of the year and an interception. He also had six carries for 33 yards on the ground. The 27-year-old looked better than he did in his season debut the previous week, but he's averaging just 5.27 air yards per attempt in his first two games. Watson should continue to get more comfortable to close out the year, but he should still be considered a QB2 for another divisional matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.
