Darius Slayton Sees Himself As WR1
1 year agoNew York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton, who re-signed with the Giants this offseason, thinks he can be the team's go-to target in the passing game in 2023. Slayton has led the G-Men in receiving in three of the last four seasons, but he hasn't gone over the 800-yard mark. The Giants haven't had a 1,000-yard receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2018. "I believe in myself. I believe in my ability. I believe in the work I put in the offseason," Slayton said. "Whether we add 10 guys, whether we add all of you guys, I believe I'll find my way on the field." The former fifth-rounder is unlikely to ever become a volume target in the NFL, especially in a crowded receiving corps that also includes tight end Darren Waller and wideouts Wan'Dale Robinson, Isaiah Hodgins, Parris Campbell, Jamison Crowder, Sterling Shepard and rookie Jalin Hyatt.
