Chris Bassitt Says His Back Is Fine
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Bassitt (back) said his back injury is fine and that he "won't even miss a bullpen" session. Bassitt left his start early on Monday against the Chicago White Sox due to right lower back tightness, but apparently it's not serious enough to land him on the injured list or even cause him to miss a turn through the starting rotation. Before leaving the game on Monday, the 34-year-old right-hander allowed two runs on three hits while walking three and striking out four in 6 1/3 innings to pick up both a win and a quality start for his fantasy managers. Bassitt came into the game with a 5.40 ERA in 21 2/3 innings over his first four starts, so this was a nice turnaround. Hopefully, he will be able to make his next start.
