Blake Snell In Line To Start Saturday
1 year agoSan Diego Padres left-hander Blake Snell (ankle) is listed as the team's probable starter on Saturday against his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays. Despite getting hit in the left ankle by a comebacker in his last start on Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, Snell was excellent, allowing one run on three hits while walking none and striking out a season-high 12 batters in seven innings in a tough no-decision. The 30-year-old southpaw got off to another rough start this year, but he's put that behind him of late, allowing just two runs on 12 hits while walking 10 and fanning 33 over 24 innings in his last four starts. He's healthy enough to make his next start this weekend, but it will come against one of the best hitting teams in the big leagues.
