Austin Ekeler Has Grade 2 Hamstring Strain
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (hamstring) was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, according to source. The expectation is that he'll miss four to six weeks, so the Chargers could place him on the short-term Injured Reserve, which would require him to miss at least three weeks. Ekeler is also dealing with a hyperextended knee and is seeking a second opinion on his injuries. Rookie Joshua Kelley becomes a priority addition off the waiver wire if he's available in your league heading into Week 5. Kelley should become the lead back with Ekeler out, while Justin Jackson will serve as his backup. The Bolts will face off with the Saints on Monday night in Week 5.
