Chris Godwin Not Expected to Play in Week 6
Chris Godwin (fibula) is not expected to play in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers due to a fibula injury, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Godwin returned in Week 4 from an ankle injury that caused him to miss the first three games of the season and has recorded six catches for 52 yards on 14 targets over the past two weeks. With Bucs wideout Mike Evans (hamstring) also expected to be sidelined in Week 7, rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka will be the clear number one option in the passing game for quarterback Baker Mayfield. Additionally, veteran wideout Sterling Shephard should be expected to play a larger role, and tight end Cade Otton could see an uptick in targets as well. Shephard has recorded 17 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown on 24 targets through five games this season, and could be a decent deep-league flex option in Week 6 with Godwin sidelined.
