Abimelec Ortiz Snaps Skid with Two-Hit Game
Abimelec Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Double-A Amarillo on Tuesday evening. Entering this contest, the No. 13-ranked prospect in the system was in a bit of a slump at the plate. Over his last five contests, he went 1-for-18 at the plate with an 8:2 K:BB. However, before this slump, Ortiz posted an impressive .425/.511/.750 slash line with three long balls over his last 10 contests. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 23-year-old's progression as he will likely be in the mix to earn a promotion to Triple-A later this season. However, he will likely not reach the majors until the 2026 campaign. Through 41 games at Double-A, Ortiz has held a .250/.341/.438 line.
