Aaron Hicks Scratched From Sunday's Lineup
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that outfielder Aaron Hicks (back) was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Miami Marlins as a precaution with lower-back soreness. Hicks should be considered day-to-day for now, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to return to action for Monday's series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. With Cedric Mullins (quadriceps) also out with a minor quad injury on Sunday, Colton Cowser is starting in center field and batting seventh for the O's against Marlins left-hander Steven Okert. Hicks has been much better in Baltimore after being let go by the New York Yankees, as he's gone 27-for-106 (.255) with six home runs, three doubles, a triple, 17 RBI, three steals and 22 runs scored in his first 34 games for the O's.
