49ers Not Getting Calls On Trey Lance
2 years agoNBC Sports' Peter King puts the chances of the San Francisco 49ers trading quarterback Trey Lance at 7.86 percent. Expectations are that the Houston Texans or Indianapolis Colts would have shown some interest in Lance, but so far the Niners haven't received any calls about him. And for what it's worth, general manager John Lynch said he expects Lance to be with the team in 2023. Lance has thrown only 420 total passes in the five years since he left high school, so it's really impossible for NFL teams to know what he is right now. The 22-year-old former third overall pick in 2021 has played in just eight games (four starts) since entering the league, and he missed almost all of 2022 with a broken ankle. Brock Purdy (elbow) might not be ready for the start of the 2023 season, but 49ers have said he deserves QB1 duties over Lance when healthy after his excellent showing last year. Lance's dynasty/keeper fantasy stock has fallen considerably, but a trade to a team that will make him the immediate starter would change everything.
