Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/14/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel and DraftKings

We have a solid 10 game slate to kick off our week, and there are some clear top pitching options on the bump today. Pricing is a bit soft on some of the pitchers on FanDuel, so you will not have any trouble fitting hitters into your lineups. There are also come clear options to stack against, and there are plenty of GPP options across the board. No major weather concerns as of now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/14/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Jose Quintana, CHC vs CIN (DK - $11,600, FD - $8,400)

Quintana is way too cheap on FanDuel today, and he looks like he will be the chalky pitcher among most DFS players. He comes into this game with a 25% strikeout rate or higher, vs both left-handed and right-handed hitters. Quintana is at home in a solid pitchers' park, against a Reds team who strikesout 21.9% of the time vs left-handed pitchers. He has struggled a bit in his last two starts, but he has put up seven or more strikeouts in three of his last six. Quintana is also limiting the hard contact vs left-handed hitters, only 29%, so look for him to keep the ball in the park, and put up a good performance. He is viable in all formats tonight.

Jerad Eickhoff, PHI @ SDP (DK - $8,000, FD - $7,400)

Eickoff makes a very interesting GPP option tonight because of the spot he is in. He has a few factor going in his favor tonight, so let's take a look at them. He is up against the Padres who have a 25.2% strikeout rate this season vs right-handed pitchers, which is third worst in the league. Eickoff has shown the strikeout upside this season, as he five games of seven or more strikeouts. He has what it takes to get it done, and against a weak offensive opponent, he is worth a shot in GPPs. This game is also at San Diego, which is a great pitchers park.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Tyler Flowers - C, ATL @ COL (DK - $3,500, FD - 3,200)

Catcher is a spot where some DFS players like to spend down and save some money, but Flower is at Coors Field, and we all know how good of a spot that can be. Flowers has a .366 wOBA and a .168 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, and is up against a pitcher who is giving up a .362 wOBA to right-handed hitters. Flowers also has an almost 40% hard contact rate vs right-handed pitchers, so a prime spot for him to go deep.

Eric Hosmer - 1B, KAN @ OAK (DK - $3,900, FD - $3,500)

The Royals are hot right now, and so is Hosmer. He has hits in five of his last eight games, along with three home runs over that same stretch. He may not be at the best hitters' park tonight, but with his .386 wOBA and a .202 ISO vs right-handed-pitchers this season, he is a threat to go deep any night. Royals could be a sneaky stack tonight, as they are up against a pitcher who is giving up a .348 wOBA or higher to both left-handed and right-handed hitters.

Ian Happ - 2B, CHC vs  CIN (DK - $4,200, FD - $2,900)

Happ wasn't in the starting lineup on Sunday, but he did come in an have a pinch hit home run. He should be back in the starting lineup tonight, and he comes into this game with a .339 wOBA and .257 ISO vs right-handed pitchers. He is a bit under priced on FanDuel tonight, so depending on where he hits in the batting order, he might be an auto lock for cash games.

Evan Longoria - 3B, TAM @ TOR (DK - $3,100, FD - $2,800)

Longoria is a better hitter than his numbers show this season, and he may not break out of this slump, but he is in a spot to get things on the right track. This season he has a .335 wOBA, a .184 ISO and a low 14% K% vs right-handed pitching. Longoria is also too cheap on both sites, and he is up against a pitcher making only his third appearance, so he should be able to jump on the new guy.

Tim Beckham - SS, BAL @ SEA (DK - $3,700, FD - $3,700)

Beckham has been on a heater since joining Baltimore, and if I know one thing, you never walk away from a heater. Beckham has hits in 12 of his last 13 games, along with 9 RBIs. He comes into this game with a .352 wOBA and a .195 ISO vs right-handed pitchers. Beckham is priced in a good spot tonight, and he can be played in any format.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Giancarlo Stanton - OF, MIA vs SFG (DK - $5,700, FD - $5,000)

Listen, we all know how good Stanton is, but right now the guy is on another level. He has home runs in four straight games and nine total home runs over his last ten games. Flat out unbelievable stuff from him since the All-Star break. As if his numbers matter but, he has a .403 wOBA and a .360 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. If you can afford to fit him in your lineup, do not pass him up.

Lorenzo Cain - OF, KAN @ OAK (DK - $3,700, FD - $4,000)

Cain has seven multi-hit games over his last 11 outings, and is in another good spot tonight. He has a .345 wOBA and a .129 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching, and is up against a pitcher who gives up a .359 wOBA to right-handed hitters. The stars seem to align tonight for this match up, and with how soft the pricing is for some of the pitchers, you should have no trouble fitting him in your lineup.

Kyle Schwarber - OF, CHC vs CIN (DK - $4,000, FD - $3,100)

Schwarber has been heating up a bit of the few weeks, and we all know he brings a ton of home run upside. This season while at home vs right-handed pitchers, he has a .356 wOBA and a .310 ISO. Absolutely monster numbers, but he is no where near consistent. Big time boom or bust, but that home run upside is what you need in a GPP.
