BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB5
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon has one touchdown and 521 yards on 149 carries so far this season. The 2020 second-round pick out of Boston College has seen more work than expected as Packers lead back Aaron Jones has dealt with a knee injury.
Dillon (groin) was limited at practice on Friday. He's played through a nagging injury the past two weeks and still managed to rack up 168 yards on 36 touches. Last week against Kansas City, Dillon collected 73 yards on 18 carries and added on 14-yard catch.
Fantasy managers should play close attention to the Packers injury report ahead of their Monday night game against the New York Giants. Aaron Jones (knee) was also limited at practice on Friday. He has now practiced two days in a row. Whether or not Jones is able to play Monday significantly impacts Dillon's fantasy value.
The matchup is a favourable one for Green Bay as the Giants have allowed 136 rushing yards per game – fifth most in the NFL. New York has allowed plenty of opposing running backs to post great games against them so far this season. Rhamondre Stevenson ran for 98 yards and a touchdown, Josh Jacobs posted 98 yards and two touchdowns, and the duo of De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert combined for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
While the matchup is a juicy one, Dillon's role is a little unclear at the moment. I'd keep him on the bench until we learn more about Jones' status. Dillon is RB30 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
