FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (7/30/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Daniel Marcus highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 7/30/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

There are a ton of elite starting pitchers on this Monday slate, with the likes of Gerrit Cole, Aaron Nola, David Price, Kenta Maeda, and James Paxton as headliners. That will spread out ownership and make this slate a fun one. Additionally, there are several values among the bats on the slate. That makes it possible to roster an elite pitcher while also rostering an expensive stack -- my favorite of which is the Diamondbacks.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 7/30/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DanMarcus3.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Robbie Ray - SP, vs. TEX ($8,300)

Ray has been a rollercoaster since returning from the disabled list on June 27, and while his price is on the rise there is still a buying opportunity compared to his cap hit earlier in the season. On Monday, he’ll draw a matchup against the Rangers and face the most dangerous hitters in their lineup -- Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo, and Nomar Mazara -- with the benefit of a lefty on lefty matchup. Ray has struggled mightily in home starts this season, though his 3.86 HR/9 is almost certainly due for some positive regression.

Shane Bieber - SP, @ MIN ($7,300)

After getting tagged for his worst start of the season, Bieber enters Monday’s action with a deflated price tag. While the Twins are a more dangerous lineup against right-handed pitching, they dealt away Eduardo Escobar over the weekend, a key member of their lineup. While Bieber hasn’t been dominant, he has shown the ability to work deep into games, which should give him a nice chance to grab 10 extra points with a win and quality start. He’ll also open up the cap to fit in one of the higher priced stacks on the slate such as Atlanta, Cleveland, or Arizona.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Justin Bour - 1B, @ ATL ($2,500)

Julio Teheran has struggled with home runs all season to batters of both handedness, though he has just a 0.4 K-BB% against left-handed hitters for the season. That leaves Derek Dietrich and Justin Bour as nice cash game plays, though Bour stands out as great value thanks to his $2,500 price tag.

Jed Lowrie - 2B, vs. TOR ($3,400)

Second base has been thinned due to injury, making Lowrie one of the pricier plays at the position on tonight’s slate. While that may seem a bit uncomfortable, Lowrie has managed a .502 slugging percentage and 133 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers. Though he has some odd splits facing them at home, he’s in for a good matchup against Marco Estrada.  Estrada has allowed a lot of baserunners on the road -- he has only a 9.5 K-BB% -- to go along with a lot of hard contact against righties, to whom he’s surrendered 1.76 HR/9 on the season.

Jorge Polanco - SS, vs. CLE ($2,800)

Polanco has slotted into the third spot in the lineup since Eduardo Escobar was dealt over the weekend. That did weaken their lineup, but Eddie Rosario and Joe Mauer still have strong on-base percentages and will bat ahead of Polanco, meaning he is likely to come to bat with runners on base at least once. While he hasn’t shown a ton of pop to go along with his impressive .365 OBP, he has been active on the basepaths. That makes him underpriced and a nice cash game value on the slate.

Evan Longoria - 3B, @ SDP ($2,800)

Longoria just returned to the lineup for the Giants’ weekend series against the Brewers and showed few signs of rust. On Monday’s slate, he will draw a matchup against southpaw Eric Lauer. While Lauer has managed descent numbers this season, Longoria is a nice cash game option thanks to his deflated price tag and 157 wRC+ and .403 wOBA at home against lefties. His ISO is only .213 leaving something to be desired in GPP contests.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

A.J. Pollock - OF, vs. TEX ($3,800)

Martin Perez has been absolutely horrendous this season and the Diamondbacks match up extremely well against left-handed pitchers. That makes them an elite team to stack on the slate. Pollock, specifically, has mashed southpaws to the tune of a 156 wRC+ and .365 ISO in 82 PA this season. While that level of production hasn’t been backed up by his long-term splits, he has still managed to hit them well in the past. While his $3,800 price tag is a bit steep, he’s an elite play on the slate.

Nick Markakis - OF, vs. MIA ($3,200)

Wei-Yin Chen has been respectable at home this season, so the Braves aren’t a top tier team to consider stacking tonight. However, they have a number of hitters who can hit vulnerable lefties. Included in that cluster is Markakis, who has managed a 140 wRC+ against southpaws for the season and is priced at a manageable point.

Also Consider: Nick Martini - OF, vs. TOR ($2,600)
