Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/20/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel and DraftKings

We have an 11 game slate to get us through this hump day, and there are some elite arms on the mound. With Chris Sale starting tonight, there is a case to be made for fading him, so read up on the pitchers. No real weather concerns as of now, so sit back, read up and let's win some contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/20/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Robbie Ray, ARI @ SDP (DK - $13,000, FD - $11, 400)

With Chris Sale, on the slate today, its tough to pivot off of him, but he has four rough starts over his last six. So if you are going to be paying up for pitching today, look at Ray. He has put up 10 or more strikeouts in four straight games, and is up against the Padres who have a 25% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitchers. Ray gets a nice positive park shift in his favor going, as he is away from home and in San Diego. Ray has also only given up five earned runs over his last six starts, and is in his best form of the year. Great spot for Ray tonight, and can be used in either format.

Jon Lester, CHC @ TAM (DK - $9,200, FD - $9,100)

Lester is back from his short stint on the DL, and seems to be getting his game back together. Lester has only given up three earned runs over his last two starts, and the powerful Cubs offense can help get him the win. He has decent strikeout numbers over his past few, but faces a Rays team, who strikes out 26.3% of the time vs left-handed pitching, which is worst in the league. Lester isn't a cash option, but as a GPP option, he makes a very interesting case. The park shift in his favor, and three straight wins is something to take note of.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Salvador Perez - C, KAN @ TOR (DK - $3,500, FD - $3,100)

Perez has three multi hit games over his last six, and sees a nice positive park shift being in Toronto. He has a .321 wOBA and a .230 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers, and makes a good play in either format. He is up against a pitcher who is giving up a .362 wOBA vs right-handed hitters, putting Perez in a good spot.

Matt Carpenter - 1B, STL @ CIN (DK - $4,300, FD - $4,100)

Carpenter is at the Great American Small Park, which is a fantastic hitters park, making him all the more favorable tonight. He has a .373 wOBA and a .223 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, and is against a pitcher who is giving up a .439 wOBA to left-handed hitters, albeit, a small sample size. If you are looking to pay up at first base tonight, strongly consider Carpenter.

Scooter Gennett - 2B, CIN vs STL (DK - $3,900, FD - $3,200)

Scooter has home runs in two straight games, and hits in three straight. He is facing a right-handed pitcher, and this season while at home against such, he has a .389 wOBA and a .277 ISO. Really like him in this spot tonight, and for his price, you get him a bit cheaper than he should be. Home run potential is great for tournaments.

Kyle Seager - 3B, SEA vs TEX (DK - $3,700, FD - $3,600)

Seager has a .341 wOBA and a .210 ISO this season while at home against right-handed pitchers. Seager was on fire last week with three home runs in four games, but has since cooled off in his last three, which might drive down his ownership in tournaments. Great as a one off, hoping he can recapture that home run power.

Freddy Galvis - SS, PHI vs LOS (DK - $2,700, FD - $3,100)

If you are a believer in BvP, than take a look at Galvis tonight. He has a .538 AVG in 13 AB vs Alex WoodThat might not be the biggest sample size, but he is cheap, especially on DraftKings. He brings an 11.9% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitching this year, so he isn't wasting his time at the dish. Good history here, and a bit of savings.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Jayson Werth - OF, WAS @ ATL (DK - $3,500, FD - $2,400)

Werth is real cheap on FanDuel tonight, and recently he has been batting in the two hole. After his long DL stint, he is back, but struggling a bit. He is a GPP option only, just for the one off that gets you some exposure to the Nationals offense. Saves money, and good hitters park.

Nomar Mazara - OF, TEX @ SEA (DK - $4,000, FD - $3,000)

Mazara does have a bit of a negative park shift tonight, for the fact he is away from Texas, but still has a good match up. He has a .338 wOBA and a .201 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. He is up against a pitcher who is giving up a .378 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

Ryan Braun - OF, MIL @ PIT (DK - $5,200, FD - $4,00)

Braun is on a bit of a hot streak right now, and you never leave a heater. He has three multi hit games over his last five, and two home runs in his last four. Really strong stuff this late in the season, and he comes into this game with a . .372 wOBA and a .269 ISO vs left-handed pitchers. Great play in any format tonight.
