Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta was expected to have a big Week 3 against the New York Jets, but caught just three passes for 44 yards and no touchdowns in a 31-24 home victory. The veteran saw increased involvement to start the 2026 season, getting targeted eight times in Week 1 and seven times in Week 2. He disappointed by falling behind even running back Jahmyr Gibbs on the stats sheet, who had seven catches for 65 yards and one touchdown in the air.
Meanwhile, Amon-Ra St. Brown had four receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown, and second-year receiver Isaac TeSlaa had three receptions for 66 yards. Even though Laporta was a major disappointment in Week 3, managers should still view him as a viable mid-end TE1 across formats in Week 4 when the Lions face the Carolina Panthers.
His offensive coordinator should position him well for a bounce-back.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams veteran tight end Tyler Higbee is firmly on the waiver-wire radar this week with both Terrance Ferguson (ankle) and Colby Parkinson (shoulder) up in the air to play in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Ferguson and Parkinson were both active for Sunday night's loss to the Denver Broncos, but they both aggravated their injuries mid-game and were pulled, leading to the 33-year-old Higbee playing a season-high 71% of the offensive snaps -- he played 20% and 26% of the snaps in the first two weeks, respectively.
Higbee was heavily involved in the 30-26 loss to the Broncos, catching eight of 11 targets for 62 yards and his first touchdown of the year after catching two passes for 12 yards in the first two games of the season. Keep in mind that star receiver Puka Nacua (groin) missed a second straight game against Denver, and he could make his return in Week 4 against the Eagles.
But if Ferguson and Parkinson are both out this week, Higbee will be on the TE2 short-term streaming radar against Philly. Higbee is not currently rostered in any Yahoo leagues. For now, he is worth stash in deeper leagues and could become a viable streamer.
Darren Waller, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers tight end Darren Waller was heavily involved in his team's passing game in their Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, recording five catches for 51 yards on eight targets. The 34-year-old has gotten off to a solid start to the season, hauling in 10 receptions for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets across three games. Waller's increased usage came after Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker (quad) left the game with a quad strain.
Coker reportedly avoided serious injury, but his status for Carolina's Week 4 matchup against the Detroit Lions is up in the air.
Even if Coker plays, Waller could be in position for a big game in Week 4. The Lions' pass defense has really struggled to begin 2026 and has already given up six receiving touchdowns to tight ends this season. In leagues where he's available on the waiver wire, Waller profiles as a priority tight end streamer for fantasy managers.
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had another productive game in Week 3 as the Chiefs outscored the Miami Dolphins 24-10. The veteran tight end caught both of his targets for 59 yards and a touchdown in Miami. While Kelce's production decreased in comparison to his 100-yard performance last week, he remained a top-two target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Sunday.
Kelce will look to continue scoring touchdowns next week against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders' defense has been a tough matchup for opposing offenses early in the year, but the Chiefs are no ordinary offense. Kelce should continue to be one of the most productive tight ends in fantasy due to his usage in the offense and his chemistry with Mahomes. Kelce should be viewed as a TE1 heading into Week 4.
