Rookie drafts will be here before you know it, and we're here to help you fill holes in your roster with our way-too-early 2026 fantasy football rookie wide receiver rankings. Landing a young breakout wideout can give you a ton of long-term value and production, so making the right choice at the position is key. In the rankings below, you will see where key 2026 WR prospects such as Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, Chris Brazzell II, KC Concepcion, Elijah Sarratt, and Zachariah Branch stand.

These initial 2026 rookie WR rankings are put together by Jackson Sparks and Phil Clark. We will update these rookie rankings all offseason long, and there will be major shake-ups based on all of the NFL prospect offseason activities, including the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, and NFL Draft. It's worth noting that not all of these collegiate players have declared for the NFL Draft yet, and players will be removed and added as those announcements come out. It's never too early to start your research and homework on rising NFL players, so let's get to it!

Rookie Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Outlooks

Carnell Tate, Ohio State

Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate is projected as a first-round pick if he declares for the 2026 NFL Draft, joining former teammates Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka in the long line of Buckeye receivers to hear their names called on Day 1 in recent years. Tate hasn't been as productive as some of the recent Ohio State first-round pass-catchers, but he's been sharing the field with mega-star Jeremiah Smith. As a junior in 2025, Tate set career highs in receiving yards (875), yards per reception (17.2), and receiving touchdowns (nine).

The former five-star recruit has been on the NFL radar since the moment he stepped on campus in Columbus, and the 6'3" pass-catcher could be a quarterback's best friend as soon as he steps on an NFL field. While his resume doesn't stack up with some of the Ohio State greats that are dominating the league right now, he's been in a pro-ready system and will likely earn Round 1 draft capital, making him an exciting NFL prospect for dynasty fantasy football managers.

Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State

Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson declared for the 2026 NFL Draft in December, and the two-time All-Big-12 performer is projected to be a top 15 pick in April. Tyson is among the shortlist of wide receivers in contention to be the first player at the position off the board. Naturally, this will make him a top pick in upcoming dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts. Tyson enjoyed a breakout year in 2024, snagging 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He was limited to nine games in 2025, but he still produced 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight scores. The 21-year-old is an excellent route runner for his size (6'2", 200), and he has strong body control and leaping ability for contested catches. WR-needy teams with young quarterbacks like the Titans and Saints are potential landing spots for the top-end wide receiver prospect.

Makai Lemon, USC

USC wide receiver Makai Lemon had a breakout season as a true junior, collecting 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games. He has already declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, and many draft analysts project the 21-year-old to be a top-20 pick in April. The Trojans ranked fifth in passing yards per game (296.0) in 2025, and Lemon led the program in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

He won the Fred Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation's most outstanding wide receiver, and was named a Unanimous All-American. If Lemon fetches the high-end draft capital he's expected to, he'll be a sure-fire first-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts. His landing spot and quarterback situation will help shape his rookie season outlook in 2026.

Denzel Boston, Washington

Denzel Boston, despite his 6-foot-4 and 209-pound frame, is a solid and fluent route-runner with decent ability after the catch. His game is quite similar to that of Houston Texans WR Jayden Higgins, so depending on landing spot, he might not get a prominent role right away. Still, he has a bright future ahead of him and will likely be a first-round pick in the 2026 draft.

Chris Brazzell II, Tennessee

For his height, Chris Brazzell's twitchiness in and out of his route breaks is freakish. Having a receiver with a large catch radius that can run routes like this is a nightmare for defenses to handle. He's not a physically imposing receiver, though, as he's just 200 pounds and doesn't have elite contested catch ability. That said, he did make a few highlight-reel catches in that realm.

Still, he could make a splash as a Z receiver playing alongside a true X wideout, and he has the physical tools you want to bet on, as many of the NFL's better receivers win with change-of-direction ability primarily instead of brute strength.

Chris Bell, Louisville

Chris Bell is an impressive physical presence and has elite athleticism for his size. That alone will make him worth investing in as a developmental project, though the finer details of his game need some work. He's sneakily quite good after the catch just based on pure speed, and his size helps there, too.

He'll be a lot to handle for defensive backs at the second level when he has speed built up. In a good offensive system that can consistently get him into open space, that could result in a lot of big plays. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL in his final game, so he'll likely fall in the draft and won't be 100 percent until 2027.

Zachariah Branch, Georgia

Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch has officially declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. Branch began his career at USC before spending his third and final collegiate season in Athens. Overall, the dynamic playmaker tallied 159 receptions for 1,634 yards and nine receiving touchdowns in 37 career games.

He also rushed 15 times for 94 yards and a touchdown and tallied over 1,300 yards and two touchdowns as a kick and punt returner. Branch didn't have the most productive career as a pure receiver, but he has elite speed and athleticism that NFL decision-makers should get excited about. His fantasy football ceiling could be limited if he's relegated to a gadget role in an offense, but in the right setting, he could produce boom weeks right away in his 2026 rookie campaign.
