Robert Suarez Secures 40th Save
Robert Suarez collected his National League-leading 40th save in a 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. The 34-year-old right-hander slammed the door on the White Sox with a 1-2-3 ninth inning and struck out two to lock up the first 40-save season of his career. It was a nice rebound for Suarez after he allowed a solo home run in a victory over Chicago on Saturday. Suarez, who's one save from tying Carlos Estevez for the major league lead, has recorded a sturdy 3.06 ERA with a .93 WHIP, 72 strikeouts, and 16 walks in 67 2/3 innings this season.
