Michael McGreevy Sent to Triple-A
Michael McGreevy to Triple-A Memphis prior to Friday's contest against the Cincinnati Reds. McGreevy was promoted to the major leagues to start the second half of Thursday's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox. In this outing, the No. 10-ranked prospect in the system tossed five innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts. He allowed just three hits and one walk. Through 16 2/3 innings in the majors this season (three starts), McGreevy has held his own in St. Louis, posting a 2.70 ERA with a stellar 0.84 WHIP. McGreevy made his MLB debut last summer and showed similar success, posting a 1.96 ERA with a 0.78 WHIP across 23 innings. Given his production in the majors, McGreevy should be in the mix to return to the majors later this season.
