Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings (Week 15) - Nick Mariano's Rest-of-Season Outlooks for Bryce Harper, Jordan Westburg, Shane Baz, James Wood

Freddie Freeman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, MLB News

Nick's updated top 300 fantasy baseball rankings for roto as of Week 15 (June 27, 2024). His rest-of-season rankings and projections for hitters and pitchers.

Howdy RotoBallers! We recently updated our fantasy baseball rankings and are back with another article to help guide you with important decisions regarding your fantasy rosters. Today, we will review Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of June 28, 2024.

These rankings are released in late June, as Nick provides his rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. We are following many interesting storylines closely, all baked into these updated rankings, and you can see them below. Let's see where players such as Bryce Harper, Jordan Westburg, Gavin Stone, Shane Baz, Corbin Carroll, Riley Greene, Oneil Cruz, Zach Neto, Edwin Diaz, Jackson Chourio, Max Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, Colt Keith, Carlos Correa, Zack Gelof currently rank. All of them have been performing well recently, struggling or returning from injury soon in 2024.

Some players are off to a terrific start in the first half so far, while some have struggled mightily. Which of these trends do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly touted players who have struggled out of the gate, especially veterans with proven track records? Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward.

Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 15 Notes

We have recently seen top prospects such as Hayden Birdsong, Heston Kjerstad, David Festa, Ben Rice, and Jhonkensy Noel promoted to the big leagues. Noel homered in his first big-league at-bat on Wednesday, while Kjerstad is 2-for-8 with a double and two strikeouts since his recent promotion to the majors on Sunday. Washinton Nationals' top prospect, James Wood, is set to make his MLB debut on Monday. At the same time, fantasy managers patiently wait for the call-up of Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Shane Baz. The 25-year-old owns a dazzling 1.57 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 35:10 K: BB across 23 innings for Triple-A Durham in June.

Philadelphia Phillies superstar first baseman Bryce Harper is having a fantastic season and has been swinging a hot bat recently. Harper is on a 10-game hitting streak and has homered five times over his last seven games. Overall, he is slashing .305/.402/.585 with 20 home runs, 57 RBI, 52 runs, and four stolen bases over 331 plate appearances in 2024. Harper was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a low-grade left hamstring strain. On Wednesday, Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Gavin Stone hurled a complete game shutout against the White Sox. Stone has been a late-round steal for fantasy managers this season with a (9-2) record 2.73 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 70:25 K: BB across 89 innings in 2024. Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is on a seven-game hitting streak, slashing .310/.300/.586 during that span.

Injuries continue to pile up. Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo was placed on the injured list with a hamstring strain. Woo has been limited to 40 2/3 innings this season as he's spent time on the IL with hamstring and elbow injuries. Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno was placed on the injured list with a sprained thumb, while the Milwaukee Brewers will be without Gary Sanchez, who will be sidelined with a calf strain. Toronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano was shut down from throwing after experiencing soreness in his right elbow. Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a mild left groin strain.

Reinforcements are coming. Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen could start Saturday against the Oakland A's, barring any setbacks from Thursday's bullpen session. Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas has been taking swings and could return from the injured list in early July. St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar is expected to begin a rehab assignment this weekend and is on track to return from the injured list next week.

Some notable performances include Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg. The 25-year-old has been wielding a hot bat recently, slashing .343/.378/.657 with three home runs, seven RBI, five runs, and a 1.036 OPS over his last nine games. Minnesota Twins third baseman Jose Miranda is hitting .412 (14-for-34) with two home runs, 10 RBI, and four runs scored over his last 10 contests. Houston Astros right-hander Spencer Arrighetti struck out 10 while scattering three hits over seven scoreless innings in Wednesday's win over the Colorado Rockies.

Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 15 Updates

These rankings will be updated weekly throughout the season, so some situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, either, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.
