Mike Matheson Won't Play on Tuesday
Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Matheson (upper body) won't play in Tuesday's contest against the Philadelphia Flyers and is considered day-to-day. Matheson will miss his first game of the season. He has been a two-way force for the Canadiens, posting 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in 32 appearances and blocking 69 shots from the opposition. Arber Xhekaj will replace Matheson in the lineup, while the entire blue line can expect to see a larger workload, as Matheson leads Montreal's skaters in ice time with 24:54 per game. Matheson's first chance to return will be on Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
