Washington State Expected to Hire Kirby Moore as Next Head Coach
Missouri offensive coordinator Kirby Moore is working on a deal to become the next head coach at Washington State, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The program just lost Jimmy Rogers to Iowa State after just one season, and it moved quickly to find its fourth full-time head coach since Mike Leach departed in 2020. Moore worked under Eli Drinkwitz in Columbia beginning in 2023, following a stint at Fresno State, and helped the Tigers become one of the most productive offenses in the SEC. Moore was a popular name in this year's coaching cycle and has ties to the West, so this is a strong hire for Washington State as it transitions into the look-look PAC-12 in 2026.
