Detroit Lions D/ST fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 17 (2023). Should you should start or sit the Detroit Lions D/ST for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: D/ST25
ANALYSIS: The Detroit Lions head into Dallas Week 17 to take on a Cowboys team which has put up eye-popping offensive totals at AT&T Stadium so far this season. The Cowboys are averaging 42 points a game over their last five home games and look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender when playing inside the friendly confines of "Jerry World".
Over that stretch, Dak Prescott has carved up opposing defences averaging 321 yards and 3.5 touchdown passes per game.
Detroit's defense is in the middle of the pack. The Lions have 13 interceptions (tied for 17th), but only one pick six. They've forced 11 fumbles, but have only recovered six. Detroit is allowing opponents to score an average of 23.7 points per game this season (24th). On the road, that number ticks up to 25.3 points per game.
All signs indicate that we have a great chance of seeing an offensive shootout on Saturday night in Dallas. Keep the Lions D/ST on your bench or off your roster. They are not worth a start.
