Alexander Mattison's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 14 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Alexander Mattison for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE:RB5
ANALYSIS: Safe to say that Alexander Mattison's first season as RB1 of the Minnesota Vikings has not gone according to plan. The 2019 third-round pick has struggled to put up consistent numbers all season long leaving fantasy managers to question what to expect every single week.
Last week against the Chicago Bears, Mattison collected 52 yards on 10 carries and 11 yards on two receptions. He also lost a fumble for the second straight week.
Mattison has received at least 16 carries in three of the last five weeks and has logged at least 56% of the backfield snaps four times over that span. However, his rushing totals of 31, 44, 27, 81 and 52 rushing yards over that span don't evoke a lot of excitement.
He is the top running back option in Minnesota though, and gets a favourable matchup this weekend at Las Vegas. The Raiders are allowing 127 yards per game, which is 25th in the league. They've also allowed opposing backs to have success in the receiving game with Jahmyr Gibbs and Isiah Pacheco both catching five passes and Saquon Barkley and Salvon Ahmed both catching three passes against the Raiders.
Mattison should be able to have some success on Sunday and can be inserted into fantasy lineups. He is RB26 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
