David Montgomery's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 11 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit David Montgomery for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: David Montgomery's first season in Detroit has been impressive thus far. The fifth-year running back out of Iowa State has 501 yards and seven touchdowns in six games this season.
In the Lions' Week 10 win at the Los Angeles Chargers, Montgomery ran for 116 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. It was the third time in his last four games that he has surpassed 100 yards rushing.
When Montgomery was out of the lineup for two games nursing a a rib injury, rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs broke out. Gibbs popped off for 220 yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries and added 95 yards on 14 receptions in those two games. He then ran for 77 yards and two touchdowns while collecting 35 yards on three receptions. That was impressive considering he was splitting time with Montgomery last week at Los Angeles.
The Lions running backs are expected to split carries again this Sunday. While Gibbs may see slightly more usage, both backs are fantasy relevant. Consider Montgomery a high-end RB2 this week.
