Wide Receiver Matchups to Target in Week 14: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Deebo Samuel, DJ Moore, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashee Rice

DJ Moore - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Dan's favorite WR vs. CB matchups to exploit for Week 14 of 2023 - DFS wide receivers to target on DraftKings & FanDuel. These WR/CB matchups are GPP and cash game sleepers.

Welcome to Week 14 WR Matchups to Target for the main slate. This week marks the end of the regular season for most fantasy leagues and the last week with teams on bye. Last week was another great round of WR Matchup picks, with four of five picks scoring a touchdown and hitting the two-times multiplier on DraftKings (fantasy points per $1,000 in salary).

Week 13 saw more incredible consistency from this season’s top receivers including Tyreek Hill (ninth week in the top six), CeeDee Lamb (six top-ten performances), and Nico Collins (four weeks in the top-five). The top ten at the position last week had nine familiar faces, with the only newcomer to this year’s list being Packers WR Christian Watson. Will we see any new faces on this list in Week 14?

Each week we use matchup data from PFF to determine wide receivers to target based on who they will be primarily lining up against that week. Below are five of the top WR vs. CB matchups for this week’s DFS main slate. Use these to set season-long lineups, make player prop picks, and gain an edge in DFS.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions

$8,200 on DraftKings, $8,200 on FanDuel; vs. Kyler Gordon

St. Brown enters Week 14 as the WR6 in PPR scoring. He has been a dream for cash games as the picture of consistency this season, ranking 21st or better among receivers in every game but one (WR26 last week).

This week he gets a matchup with the Bears, PFF’s 11th-best matchup for receivers. St. Brown has a significant advantage over Chicago slot corner Kyler Gordon (88.9 offensive grade vs. 59.8 defensive grade).

The Bears defense plays zone coverage at a top-12 rate. St. Brown ranks second among receivers in fantasy points per route run (0.61) and eighth in PFF receiving grade against zone. He continues to be a great play in cash games.

Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers

$6,800 on DraftKings, $7,500 on FanDuel; vs. Tre Brown

Samuel and the 49ers come into Week 14 on a high after a decisive 42-19 win over the Eagles last week, in which the receiver finished with 138 total yards and three touchdowns.

Samuel will look for a repeat performance this week against the Seahawks. In the first matchup for these teams in Week 12, Samuel finished with seven targets for 79 yards to go along with 15 rushing yards and a rushing score.

As a jack-of-all-trades who lines up evenly across the field for San Francisco, Samuel has the advantage of being able to find mismatches in the slot while avoiding prolonged coverage from stingy outside corners Tariq Woolen and Devon Witherspoon. Samuel will get to take advantage of Seattle’s 86.3% rate of zone coverage, as he ranks fourth in PFF receiving grade and eighth in fantasy points per route run among receivers against zone coverage this season.

Samuel could be in store for another high-ceiling game, making him a great bet on Sunday in tournament formats especially.

DJ Moore, Chicago Bears

$6,500 on DraftKings, $7,700 on FanDuel; vs. Jerry Jacobs

Moore has shown an excellent rapport with QB Justin Fields. In their last six games together, the former first-round pick has a 31% target share, 43 catches, 716 receiving yards, and six touchdowns.

He has a divisional matchup with the Lions next on the schedule, the sixth-best matchup for receivers this week according to PFF. Detroit’s pass defense has tumbled as the season has worn on, ranking as the 30th-ranked unit in DVOA over the last five weeks.

Moore has an excellent 94.7 matchup advantage this week over CB Jerry Jacobs, who he is projected to line up most frequently against on the outside. The Lions defense deploys man coverage at a top-12 rate which bodes well for Moore, who ranks fourth in yards per route run and ninth in fantasy points per route run against man.

Moore is 16th in price on DraftKings among receivers this week despite top-8 upside. He’s a great play in both cash and tournament contests this week.

Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs

$5,400 on DraftKings, $6,300 on FanDuel; vs. Taron Johnson

Rookie Rashee Rice continues to impress this season for a Chiefs team in need of a receiving room leader.

The rookie’s snap share has continued to increase, earning a season-high 69% of snaps last week in an eight-catch, 64-yard performance against the Packers. He has 19 targets over the past two weeks, showing his emergence as Mahomes’ favorite receiving target over the second half of the season.

This week Rice has a matchup against the Bills, who have been struggling in recent weeks. Buffalo’s passing defense ranks 24th in DVOA over the last five weeks. They have allowed at least one 17+ point receiver (DraftKings points) in five of their last six outings.

Rice has scored in every other game since Week 5 and could be in store for another as his snap and target share continue to escalate. He is a great low-cost play in DFS and fantasy this week.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks

$4,100 on DraftKings, $5,500 on FanDuel; vs. Deommodore Lenoir

Smith-Njigba is another promising rookie for Week 14, coming off a season-high 11 targets and seven catches last week.

The rookie faces off against a vulnerable 49ers secondary missing safeties Talanoa Hufanga and George Odum. He will avoid corners Charvarious Ward (79.2 PFF grade) and Ambry Thomas (79.7 PFF grade) and have an opportunistic matchup against 49rs slot corner Deommodore Lenoir (65.1 PFF grade).

Smith-Njigba is 39th in price at the position in DraftKings with a low projected ownership percentage, making him a great option for tournament contests this week.
