Wide Receiver Matchups to Target in Week 11: Brandon Aiyuk, DK Metcalf, Tank Dell, Terry McLaurin, DJ Moore

Brandon Aiyuk - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News

Dan's favorite WR vs. CB matchups to exploit for Week 11 of 2023 - DFS wide receivers to target on DraftKings & FanDuel. These WR/CB matchups are GPP and cash game sleepers.

An exciting Week 10 is in the books, which saw four receivers score over 33 DraftKings points, including Cowboys teammates CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. Cooks and Tyler Boyd were the only newcomers to the weekly top 10 at receiver, with Lamb scoring his third straight top-two performance at the position.

Week 11 brings an 11-game main slate that will not be missing any of this season’s top 10 receivers. We may be in for a lower scoring week, however, with only two games possessing a 47+ point over/under.

Each week, we use matchup data from PFF to determine wide receivers to target based on who they will be primarily lining up against that week. Below are five of the top WR vs. CB matchups for this week’s DFS main slate. Use these to set season-long lineups, make player prop picks, and gain an edge in DFS.

Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers

$7,200 on DraftKings, $7,800 on FanDuel; vs. Jamel Dean

Aiyuk has stepped up as the 49ers' top receiver this year and has produced moderate results, coming into Week 11 as the WR19 in full PPR.

The 49ers host the Buccaneers on Sunday, the NFL’s top matchup for opposing receivers, according to PFF. Aiyuk also holds PFF’s top overall WR/CB matchup advantage this week with a 94.3 matchup grade over a Tampa Bay secondary that gave up 114 yards and two touchdowns to rookie Tank Dell in Week 9.

The Buccaneers play an average amount of both man and zone coverage. Aiyuk ranks within the top 10 in fantasy points per route run against both zone and man coverage and ranks second in the NFL in yards per route run generally. Aiyuk has one of the highest floors of the slate among receivers. Start him with confidence.

D.K. Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks

$6,900 on DraftKings, $7,200 on FanDuel; vs. Cobie Durant

DK Metcalf has underperformed so far in 2023. He currently ranks as the WR37 in fantasy football and has yet to finish in the top 12 at the position on any week. He has an opportunity to change that in Week 11 in a matchup with the Rams, who rank 24th in defensive DVOA.

Metcalf has lined up in the X-receiver position 59% of the time this season and projects to match up mainly against CB Cobie Durant, a defensive back with a subpar 50.9 defensive PFF grade. The Rams have played zone at the sixth-highest rate in the NFL this season. Metcalf leads the Seahawks in receiving yards versus zone coverage and ranks inside the top 30 in PFF receiving grade against zone.

In what is projected to be a close matchup with a 46.5 over/under, expect both Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to produce while offering value as low ownership plays in DFS.

Tank Dell, Houston Texans

$5,900 on DraftKings, $7,000 on FanDuel; vs. Starling Thomas V

Dell has been boom-or-bust for fantasy so far this year, with three weeks inside the top 15 and three weeks outside the top 60 at the position. He has been featured in this article for two weeks in a row and rightfully so, achieving WR2 and WR14 finishes the last two weeks.

Despite Nico Collins likely returning this week, Dell now has a solidified role as the main deep threat in the explosive Texans offense, earning a 14-yard average depth of target and having 21.1% of his targets coming on deep passes.

Houston matches up with the Cardinals this week, PFF’s second-best matchup for receivers. Arizona deploys zone coverage at a top-10 rate which bodes well for Dell -- he owns a 27.4% target rate against zone coverage compared to 18.2% against man. At $5,900, the rookie is still too cheap on DraftKings. Use him in GPP contests this week with confidence.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

$5,800 on DraftKings, $6,800 on FanDuel; vs. Deonte Banks

Despite being a top playmaker for an offense that is leading the league in passing through 10 weeks, McLaurin has not yet delivered the WR1 numbers fans have come to expect from the Pro Bowler. The 28-year-old enters Week 11 as the WR24 in PPR despite only finishing inside the top 20 once this season.

McLaurin has a matchup with the New York Giants on Sunday, PFF’s fourth-best matchup for receivers. The Giants play man coverage at the second-highest rate in the league, despite being bottom-10 in yards allowed per reception and explosive play rate allowed against man coverage. They have allowed the third-most fantasy points to receivers this season.

McLaurin has a sizeable matchup advantage this week against corners Deonte Banks and Adoree Jackson, two corners with sub-45 defensive grades, according to PFF. Sam Howell and the Commanders do not appear to be slowing down in the passing game anytime soon, and with the best matchup advantages on the field on Sunday, look for McLaurin to hit his top-20 potential this week.

DJ Moore, Chicago Bears

$5,600 on DraftKings, $6,800 on FanDuel; vs. Jerry Jacobs

No one will be more excited to potentially see QB Justin Fields back on the field this week than DJ Moore, who has two top-five WR performances with Fields under center and who was just heating up before Fields was sidelined earlier this year with a thumb injury.

Moore and the Bears match up against the Detroit Lions this week, a top-10 matchup for receivers, according to PFF. Moore boasts an 84.5 offensive PFF grade, a noticeable advantage over his main projected cover corners Jerry Jacobs and Cameron Sutton (65.9 and 57.6, respectively).

The Lions deploy a league-average amount of both zone and man coverage. Moore ranks among the top 25 receivers in fantasy points per route run against both zone and man. Take advantage of a discounted price for Moore before his rapport with Fields shoots him up the DFS price sheet again.
