The Cut List - Time to Let Go? Who to Drop for Fantasy Football Week 13

Rob's fantasy football players to drop when making waiver wire moves for Week 13 (2025). He helps fantasy football managers decide on who to cut from rosters.

At this point in the season, when looking to cut someone, fantasy managers should ask themselves, "Is there any scenario in which I'd be okay starting this player?" If the answer is no, they're completely cuttable. If the answer is yes, then you must ask how likely that scenario is. You also need to consider just how "okay" you'd be starting that given player if the scenario broke just how you wanted it to.

Take Alvin Kamara, for example. We'll talk about him more in-depth in the article. What would need to happen for you to be okay starting Kamara? Is there anything? For that reason, he's cuttable. Look, maybe you're desperate, and your running back spot is so bad you have to hang onto him. I get it! That scenario could absolutely exist, but I really hope no one is in that dire a spot.

This article will identify players who can safely be cut in 12-team leagues. Be sure to also check out my waiver wire article for Week 13, because with almost every cut, there's a new addition we welcome to our team. Running Backs to Consider Cutting

Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints - 92.7% Rostered

Look, I totally get it. Some teams may not be in a position to cut Kamara, and I'm certainly not cutting him unless there's a better option on the waiver wire (obviously), but I'm just about over the Kamara experience this year. Since rookie Tyler Shough made his first appearance, Kamara has averaged 5.3 half-PPR PPG over four games. This does include Week 12, a game Kamara did leave early, but that's part of the problem.

Kamara is now dealing with a sprained MCL. In the weeks leading up to Week 12, Kamara had been playing through an ankle injury. The Saints' season is effectively over, and it would make sense for them to get a look at rookie Devin Neal. It seems likely that Kamara will miss a few weeks with his knee injury. If that's the case, even once he returns, fantasy managers should be expecting him to be in a committee of sorts.

On the season, Kamara has just four games where he scored double-digits. He has four games in which he scored 6.0 half-PPR points or fewer, excluding a 6.1-point performance that would have made it five. Since Week 3, Kamara has averaged 8.0 half-PPR PPG, which doesn't include Week 12, where he left early due to an injury.

Since Week 7, again not including Week 12, where he left injured, Kamara is averaging 5.8 half-PPR PPG. That's a lower PPG average than Ty Johnson, Samaje Perine, Tony Pollard, Bhayshul Tuten, and Emari Demercado. Some fantasy analysts will look at his schedule and be intrigued. I'm over the experience. I was over it before the injury, but that was the nail in the coffin.

Other Running Backs to Consider Cutting:

Wide Receivers to Consider Cutting

Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers - 86.4% Rostered

Since Week 4, Keenan Allen is the WR48 with an 8.0 half-PPR PPG average. However, his median score over that time is just 6.3 half-PPR. His PPG average is being propped up by one 23.4-point performance. That is his only game with more than 8.5 half-PPR points since Week 4. In fact, since Week 4, Allen has more games below 5.0 half-PPR points than he does with more than 8.5 half-PPR points.

From Weeks 1-7, Allen's route share was 73.2% and averaged 9.0 targets per game. Over their last four games, Allen's route share has dropped to 56.6% and his target per game average has dipped to 4.8. With Ladd McConkey reverting to his rookie form, Quentin Johnston taking another step, and Oronde Gadsden II breaking out, there hasn't been much left for Allen. There appears to be very little upside left for Allen.

Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings - 85.6% Rostered

Since Week 9, Addison is averaging 5.35 half-PPR points. Why is that sample important? That's because that's the four-game sample with J.J. McCarthy under center. He's now dealing with a concussion, which some will interpret as a "soft benching." In the end, it doesn't matter what it is. Addison has scored 7.4, 5.0, 9.0, and 0.0 half-PPR points with McCarthy as the starter. Carson Wentz isn't coming back to save him or this offense.

Undrafted rookie Max Brosmer will get the start if McCarthy is unable to go. Some fantasy managers will argue that it cannot get any worse than McCarthy, and while I understand the logic, it certainly is possible to get worse. Even if Brosmer is "better," the amount of improvement he'd need to make over McCarthy for Addison to be viable is substantial.

Fantasy managers should try to hang onto Addison to see if Brosmer is, by chance, solidly better than McCarthy, but it's hard to have any kind of optimism given the current state of the Minnesota offense.

Others to Consider Cutting:

Tight Ends to Consider Cutting

Kyle Pitts Sr., Atlanta Falcons - 78.4% Rostered

Michael Penix Jr. is on season-ending IR, and now Kirk Cousins is the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. In 17 games with Cousins under center, Pitts has averaged just 6.5 half-PPR PPG. Cousins has appeared to be a shell of his former self in Minnesota. The torn Achilles tendon and Father Time seem to have had a significant negative impact on Cousins.

In Cousins's first start, Pitts finished with just two receptions and 25 yards. Three players had more receptions, and two had more yards. Drake London wasn't even active. Darnell Mooney appears to be healthy for the first time this season. Coupled with Mooney's health, the quarterback move, and London's impending return, Pitts' fantasy value seems to have reached an end.

T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings - 75.8% Rostered

Hockenson is averaging just 5.5 half-PPR PPG. In the six starts that McCarthy made, Hockenson has averaged just 4.0 half-PPR PPG. In four of those six contests, Hockenson scored fewer than 4.0 half-PPR points. He was held to under 20 yards in five of them.

McCarthy is dealing with a concussion, and this could be an opportunity for the Vikings to give him a few weeks to catch his breath. Fantasy managers may get undrafted rookie Brosmer to start for the Vikings, and while having a new quarterback start for the Vikings may sound appealing, considering how poor McCarthy has been, fantasy managers should be very skeptical about just how much better Brosmer is going to be.
