Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 8:
Bam Knight, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back Bam Knight is worth adding in 12-team leagues and could provide RB3/flex value against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8 if Jeremiyah Love (ankle) remains sidelined, after leading the team's backfield with 43 offensive snaps (53%) in Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Denver Broncos and overtaking Tyler Allgeier (38 snaps) after playing fewer snaps in Week 6.
Knight rushed seven times for 48 yards and caught three of five targets for 15 yards, while Allgeier totaled 49 scrimmage yards on 11 touches. Across the two games Love has missed, Knight has produced 161 scrimmage yards on 27 touches and outgained Allgeier 128-57 as a rusher despite receiving four fewer carries. His increased playing time is particularly notable considering he managed just three carries through Arizona's first five games.
His recent production gives him a case for retaining a rotational role when Love returns, although his workload could shrink considerably once Arizona's backfield is healthy.
Tyler Allgeier, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier lost his playing-time edge in Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Denver Broncos, as Bam Knight overtook him 43 snaps to 38, reversing Allgeier's 40-32 advantage in Week 6. His workload dropped with it, from 18 carries in Week 6 to eight for 19 yards, while adding three receptions for 30 yards.
Over the past two games, he has managed just 57 rushing yards on 26 carries to Knight's 128 on 22, failing to capitalize on Jeremiyah Love's (ankle) absence. He is a reasonable drop in 10-team leagues and replaceable in standard 12-team formats if a more promising waiver option is available.
Managers in leagues with at least 14 teams can justify holding him as backfield insurance, but Knight's emergence threatens his workload even if Love misses additional time. Head coach Mike LaFleur said Love would return to practice Wednesday, although his availability against the Dallas Cowboys remains uncertain.
Kendrick Bourne, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Kendrick Bourne just inherited a bigger role, with Jalen Brooks (wrist) announcing Monday that he will miss the remainder of the season. With Marvin Harrison Jr. traded to the Houston Texans and Brooks requiring season-ending wrist surgery, Bourne is positioned as the Cardinals' No. 2 wide receiver behind Michael Wilson.
The production already backs it up: he has drawn 22 targets over Arizona's past three games and turned them into 13 catches for 126 yards, even after three receptions for nine yards Sunday. Brooks played 52 offensive snaps and drew six targets in the 30-16 loss to the Denver Broncos, compared to Bourne's 45 snaps and six targets.
Tight end Trey McBride remains the offense's primary receiving option after commanding 13 targets against Denver, but Bourne now faces far less competition for opportunities. Add him in 12-team PPR leagues as a potential flex option heading into Arizona's Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Luther Burden III, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears second-year wide receiver Luther Burden III looked like the second-year breakout player that many fantasy managers envisioned coming into this season in the team's 30-24 victory on Thursday night over the visiting New England Patriots.
Burden had a strong connection with quarterback Caleb Williams and caught all four of his targets for a season-high 130 yards and his second touchdown of the 2026 season. His four targets were tied with running back D'Andre Swift for third on the team behind tight end Colston Loveland's 12 and Rome Odunze's five, but he struck for chunk gains and averaged a strong 32.5 yards per reception on the night.
Burden also carried the ball once for a gain of seven yards on the ground. It is a second straight strong game for the 22-year-old wideout after he caught all eight of his targets for 95 yards in last week's win over the Atlanta Falcons. The former second-rounder from Missouri is one of Williams' favorite targets and should be considered a must-start after a slow start going into the Monday night matchup in Week 8 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
