Fantasy Football Draft Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider drafting in 2025:
DJ Moore - WR, Chicago Bears
D.J. Moore should sustain his role as Chicago's WR1 after a transformative offseason that should produce multiple improvements in the Bears' offense and increased competition for targets. The shortcomings in Chicago's coaching staff during 2024 contributed to the Bears' deficiencies on offense, but that issue should be rectified through the arrival of Ben Johnson. Caleb Williams should also operate more effectively under Johnson, while benefiting from the Bears' offseason additions to their offensive line.
Those factors could also elevate Moore's numbers beyond the results that he attained during 2024. Moore's 140 targets (8.2 per game) represented the second highest total of his career, while his 98 receptions established a career-high. However, his yardage total dropped significantly when contrasted with 2023 (1,364/966), while he also registered career-lows in yards per target (6.9), aDOT (7.1), yards per route run (1.44), and air yards share (25.1 percent).
Moore also finished 28th in points per game (14.0), after rising to sixth in 2023 (16.9). Moore's competition for targets will intensify after Chicago selected Colston Loveland (10th overall), and Luther Burden III (39th overall) during April's NFL draft, while Rome Odunze could exceed the 19 percent target share that he secured in 2024. Moore should still deliver WR2 production but is unlikely to exceed the expectations of his Round 4 ADPs in best ball leagues (40/WR18) and dynasty startups (37/WR22).
Cooper Kupp - WR, Seattle Seahawks
New Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp is looking to put aside his injury woes and deliver for his new team in 2025. Kupp is coming off another strong campaign in which he caught 67 passes for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. He notably fell off at the end of the season, totaling just four catches and 53 yards from Weeks 15 through 17. The end of the season and the change in scenery have led to a severe depression in Kupp's value as he is currently being drafted as a low-end WR3 or borderline flex option and is ranked as WR49.
However, Kupp's fall from grace at the end of the season was more of a reflection of the Rams scheming him out of the offense rather than a fall-off in ability. Before that rough stretch, Kupp was comfortably producing WR2 numbers every week. Kupp may not be the Triple Crown winner he once was, and he may be taking a downgrade at quarterback, but this is still a player with enough in the tank to deliver solid numbers for fantasy.
He is a savvy veteran who always knows where to be. As such, he is a quarterback's best friend and should mesh well with new Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. The Seahawks' offense has produced two WR2s for several years. If this offense meshes well, Kupp can comfortably be drafted at his current ADP with potential upside for a low-end WR2 season.
Drake London - WR, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London broke out in a huge way last season. His 100 catches were the seventh-most in the league, and he finished top-four in targets (157), target rate (30.3%), red zone targets (25), and receiving yards (1,271). His 42.7% red zone share propelled him to nine touchdowns, more than double his previous career high, and a WR5 finish. His success can also be attributed to offensive coordinator Zac Robinson lining him up in the slot 38.2% of the time, where he can utilize his size advantage over nickel corners and his speed advantage over linebackers and safeties.
Most importantly, London was far and away quarterback Michael Penix's favorite target when he took over the starting role, feeding him the ball on 37% of his routes, resulting in an elite 3.52 yards per route run according to PFF. London averaged 23 PPR points per game with Penix under center, which would have been second-best behind only Ja'Marr Chase. Heading into 2025, London should pick up right where he left off as an elite WR1 option. Bijan Robinson is arguably the best running back in football, Darnell Mooney is a stellar WR2 and deep-threat option, and Kyle Pitts should hopefully develop further in the second year of Zac Robinson's offense.
These supporting weapons will make it difficult for opposing defenses to key in on London. Despite his size, he has big-play ability and can turn even the slightest mistake into a house call, and at just 24 years old, he is just scratching the surface of becoming the dominant player he is capable of being. Unfortunately, for fantasy managers, early drafters are in on the secret as London's ADP sits at WR9 in the second round.
It may seem like a heavy price to pay for a wide receiver on a running offense, but he is the perfect WR1 to pair with an elite running back because he can produce first-round production without costing managers their first pick. Some fantasy minds are skeptical of London paying off on his high ADP and repeating his breakout season, but they should be worried about missing out if his breakout season was only the beginning.
James Conner - RB, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner finished the season as the RB11 overall in the standard PPR fantasy football league scoring format. He eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing, scored nine total touchdowns, nabbed the second-most receptions in his career, and totaled over 1,500 yards from scrimmage. Yet he's still relatively easy to draft in the fifth round of fantasy football drafts in 2025.
It seems like the market expects every year to be Conner's fall-off year, yet he keeps chugging onwards. The prospects of backup back Trey Benson taking over the backfield don't seem very large, as Conner signed an extension to his contract on November 30. Conner should continue to be a great value in all formats. His tape was great last season, and he was excellent at forcing missed tackles, so he often got more yards on his runs than the defense expressly gave him.
Benson is a nice handcuff, but that's about it. Conner in the fourth round is honestly not a bad pick -- even in the case he does get injured, he's a player you can usually count on to put up good numbers when he's healthy and on the field. That's better than a player that's less of a sure-fire start to have. Target Conner especially if he's available in the 5th round in redraft leagues
