Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings (Week 14) - Nick Mariano's Rest-of-Season Outlooks for Gunnar Henderson, Mookie Betts, Ben Rice, DJ Herz

Gunnar Henderson - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Prospects, Draft Sleepers

Nick's updated top 300 fantasy baseball rankings for roto as of Week 14 (June 20, 2024). His rest-of-season rankings and projections for hitters and pitchers.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to more fantasy baseball rankings. The first half of the season is coming to a close soon. With that being said, it's time for another rankings check-in. Below is another edition of Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of June 20, 2024.

These rankings are released in mid-June, as Nick provides his rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. We are following many interesting storylines closely, all baked into these updated rankings, and you can see them below. Let's see where players such as Gunnar Henderson, Royce Lewis, Mookie Betts, Triston Casas, Brent Rooker, Jackson Merrill, Ceddanne Rafaela, Ben Rice, Bo Bichette, J.D. Martinez, Andy Pages, and DJ Herz currently rank. All of them have been performing well recently, struggling or returning from injury soon in 2024.

Some players are off to a terrific start in the first half so far, while some have struggled mightily. Which of these trends do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly touted players who have struggled out of the gate, especially veterans with proven track records? Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward.

Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 14 Notes

We have recently seen top prospects such as Jake Bloss, Addison Barger, Ben Rice, Spencer Horwitz, Tyler Black, and Adam Kloffenstein recently promoted to the big leagues. Since being called up on June 14, Barger is 6-for-14 (.423) with two RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base over four games, while Rice is hitting .286 (2-for-7) with an RBI over two contests. At the same time, fantasy managers patiently wait for the call-up of Cincinnati Reds infielder Noelvi Marte, whose 80-game suspension is coming to an end soon. The 22-year-old is hitting .226 (7-for-31) with two RBI and stolen base over seven games but has struck out eight times during that span.

Baltimore Orioles third baseman Gunnar Henderson is having a terrific season, slashing .273/.371/.582 with 22 home runs, 49 RBI, 59 runs, and 11 stolen bases over 72 games in 2024. Henderson is on a 12-game hit streak, slashing .314/.386/588 with three homers, seven RBI, and 12 runs during the hitting streak. Since getting the call in June, Washington National left-hander DJ Herz owns a 3.77 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 21:5 K: BB across 14 1/3 innings. Herz is coming off a fantastic start, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out 13 over six scoreless innings to earn the win in Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Miami Marlins. The 23-year-old became the second pitcher in MLB history to rack up 13 strikeouts and no walks in his first three career starts.

Injuries continue to pile up. Los Angeles Dodgers superstar infielder Mookie Betts is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks after fracturing his left wrist on a hit-by-pitch on Sunday in the series finale against the Kansas City Royals. Before the injury, Betts was slashing .304/.405/.488 with 10 home runs, 40 RBI, and nine stolen bases over 331 plate appearances in 2024. The Yankees will be without first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who will be sidelined for eight weeks with a fractured right forearm, while the Dodgers will be without right-hander Walker Buehler, who landed on the injured list with hip discomfort.

Reinforcements are coming. Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker will begin baseball activities this weekend and is on track to come off the injured list next week. Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu could return this weekend, while first baseman Triston Casas is aiming for a return in early July after being placed on the 60-day IL with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage in April.

Some notable performances include Boston Red Sox outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela, who is slashing .615/.643/.846 with a home run, four RBI, six runs, and two stolen bases over his last seven games. New York Mets designated hitter J.D. Martinez has had a productive June, slashing .283/.403/.533 with three home runs, 13 RBI, and nine runs over 16 games. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages has been swinging a hot bat recently, slashing .293/.383/.512 with two home runs, three RBI, nine runs, and a .895 OPS over his last 11 games.

Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 14 Updates

These rankings will be updated every week throughout the season, so some of these situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, either, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.

As always, be sure to stay on top of all the MLB news with our running list of 24x7 fantasy baseball news and injuries. And if you don't yet have our free mobile app, be sure to download it and stay on top of all the MLB news and analysis with our free push notification alerts.

Nick Mariano's ranks are as of June 20, 2024. They are for 5x5 category mixed roto leagues and will be updated regularly on our main fantasy baseball rankings dashboard all season long. Be sure to read our daily fantasy baseball analysis articles as well.
