Twins Likely Out On Josh Donaldson
5 years agoThe Minnesota Twins have grown pessimistic about their chances of signing third baseman Josh Donaldson, who is seeking four years and $110 million. The Twins, Nationals and Braves are all believed to have offered four years and between $90-100 million. Sources with knowledge of the negotiations say that Donaldson hasn't appeared interested in signing with the Twins. Minnesota seems unlikely to increase their offer with Miguel Sano already at third base. While the Twins have been in the Donaldson sweepstakes, the Nationals and Braves have been the front-runners, and Donaldson will give the Braves a chance to match any offer. The former American League MVP hit 37 home runs for the Braves in 2019. Injuries and age are concerns, but Donaldson can be a difference-maker with his power when healthy.
