Trevor Story Could Begin Rehab Assignment After All-Star Break
1 year agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story (elbow) is making fast progress in his rehab, and manager Alex Cora said that there is a chance that Story begins a minor-league rehab assignment after the All-Star break. The Red Sox don't have any plans to bring him back early as the designated hitter, and when he does return, he'll be the team's primary shortstop. The 30-year-old is attempting to make it back from an internal-brace procedure on his right elbow, and he was scheduled to take batting practice on Tuesday. Story hasn't played in a major-league game since Sept. 11 of last year, so fantasy managers may want to temper their expectations once he returns in 2023. David Hamilton and Enrique Hernandez have been sharing time at the 6 in Beantown of late.
