Free-agent starting pitcher Trevor Bauer seems unlikely to re-sign with the Cincinnati Reds in free agency. The Reds plan when they acquired Bauer at the trade deadline in 2019 was to make the playoffs at least once in his two years with the team and then use the increased revenues to try and re-sign him. The Reds made the playoffs in the shortened 2020 season, but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented them from seeing any financial rewards. Bauer will reject the team's $18.9 million qualifying offer. If he signs with another team, the Reds will receive draft-pick compensation. The Angels could be a fit for Bauer, as the right-hander grew up in LA and they are looking for a No. 1 starter to anchor their rotation. Bauer is the favorite to win the National League Cy Young in 2020.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
